    Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce Welcomes Barbara Reynolds as the Chairman of the Board

    Westport, CT – May 3, 2018 – Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce (WWCC), with its mission to support and foster businesses of the Westport-Weston community announced January this year the appointment of Barbara Reynolds as the Chairman. This follows previous Chairman Mr Paul Lebowitz’s decision to step aside after he was elected as Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission.

    Barbara, a Realtor with Halstead Real Estate in Westport, is a 25-year resident of Weston and has been a Board member of the Chamber for over 2 years. Her appointment as the Chairman- provides continuity in the WWCC Board and grows the spotlight to Weston.

    The new Board has fully endorsed the Chamber’s existing businesses and is looking forward to continuing the economic development of Westport and its shoreline hugging sister city Weston that has a population of about 10,000 and was proclaimed by Connecticut Magazine as the No. 1 town in the entire state.

    Weston, an hour from New York City, has about 20% of its residents commuting to Manhattan daily. The town has nearly a quarter of it preserved as open space besides holding a minimum 2 acre zoning area and boasts of an exceptional educational system. Weston’s Center has a local food market, a bank, pharmacy, dry cleaners, real estate office, post office, spirits shop, hardware store, restaurant, and gas and service station offering all amenities in this quiet and wooded suburb.

    Barbara currently serves on the Weston Board of Assessment Appeals (alt), Weston Panel of Moderators and has served in many volunteer roles. Barbara was the chair of the Real Estate Sub-Committee for Weston’s Strategic Planning Committee 2017. Formerly, she served as Vice-Chair of the Weston Board of Education, President of the WMS PTO and Chairman of the Board of The Weston Racquet Club.

    Barbara is a member of the Greater Fairfield County CMLS, National Association of Realtors, Connecticut Association of Realtors and Mid-Fairfield County Association of Realtors.
